These are the
M1938 Canvas Leggings that were so loved by our GIs in WWII. Our
reproduction is beautifully made from heavy canvas in the correct color
with proper blackened hardware. They include 9 hooks just like the
originals and are tough to tell apart. Ours are manufacturer marked on
the inside 4-R SEMS 9-30-42 from the Jeff. QM, Depot, or 3R U.O. Colson Co 9-3-42.
necessary for field wear with our roughout boots. The fielding of the
M43 "two buckle" boots meant that Soldiers no longer needed to wear
their canvas leggings. Maybe that's why there are so many pictures of
GIs smiling when they got their new M43 boots.
The size 2Rs only have 10 eyelets instead of the 18 they're supposed to have. They're functional, though if not accurate, if you have to have size 2R.
